The Very Best News, Reviews And Opinions From the Xbox World

Having been Xbox gamers from 2002 when the original big black box hit the UK, taking in all the 360 years and now being overly excited for the One, they could never find a place that would only cover the interesting, exciting stuff from the world of Xbox. Hence, TheXboxHub was born.

Covering only the best in the latest news and reviews for both Xbox 360 and Xbox One, they aim to be a one stop hub for all your Xbox needs, without all the useless guff that you really don’t want to know about.

From January 2015 until the XCN closed in September 2018, TheXboxHub has been recognised as part of the official Xbox Community Network, whilst January 2017 saw us added to the approved critic list over at Metacritic.

Meet the current team:

Set up at the back end of 2013 by long time Xboxer Neil, TXH has already exceeded many of his expectations, now seeing regular posts from achievement hunter James, alongside input from pro writers Gemma and Gareth when they can manage to drag themselves away from the science lab and stage respectively. Fin is now also on board and will help contribute to their monthly ‘Up Next’ articles and opinion pieces, whilst further team members help contribute on a very regular basis.

Review Scores:

They think long and hard about their review scores. It’s pretty safe to say that no matter how much they want someone to read every last word, the majority of gamers will skim a review just to see what the final score is. That could be out of 100, 10 or in their case, 5…..with 1 being the worst score possible and 5 being the best.

That’s not to say that a 5 rated game is perfect, no game ever is perfect and they’d hazard a guess to say that no game ever will be that way, but if you see a TXH 5* at the bottom of a review then it’s safe to assume things are rather decent. Similarly, see that dreaded 1* rating and just make sure you think twice about spending your cash.

From January 2015 they’ve started to bring in half star scores to their reviews. The same principle as before still stands, but the half marks now give us the chance to bring a little more detail to the equation. If you need a little confirmation then think of the stars as the following percentages…

  • 0-10% – 0.5 star
  • 11-20% – 1 star
  • 21-30% – 1.5 star
  • 31-40% – 2 star
  • 41-50% – 2.5 star
  • 51-60% – 3 star
  • 61-70% – 3.5 star
  • 71-80% – 4 star
  • 81-90% – 4.5 star
  • 91-100% – 5 star

Groups and Communities:

After bringing you the best Xbox news and reviews for some time, they feel it’s now time to expand as a community. With that in mind, they have two popular and well used groups in place. Whether you spend every waking hour on Facebook or prefer to delve into the art of Google+, they cater for your needs. Join their Facebook Group or Google+ Community right now and get involved in the chat. You’ll also be privy to all their competitions and giveaways, with many of our Xbox One code giveaways going out to those involved in their groups. They’d love to see you join us in discussions in regards to Xbox, the wider gaming community or the world in general. Got something to vent? They’re here to listen!

Game With Us:

Obviously they wouldn’t even consider running, editing or writing about Xbox One or 360 news and reviews if they weren’t massive gamers at heart. Thankfully they are and are always on the lookout for new friends, followers or opponents on Xbox Live. Feel free to add their gamertags to your friends list, (you can find their author details on each article) and they’ll happily get gaming with or against you. They’re known to play all manner of games but at the end of a hard days writing, can normally be found tearing up Division 8 of FIFA Clubs with their ‘Trumpton Town’ team or on Forza Horizon 4 with their car club (they’d love you to join). They’d be more than happy to play more friendly clubs games so if you have a team and would like a match or five, give us a shout and they’ll get something arranged.
